Blog 5 and interview questions

                                                            Part 1

How could one tell the amount of focus needed and the severity of a positive mindset has on an athlete in a stressful period of their performance?

I choose this person because they have an understanding and the mindset of what it takes to be an athlete. So this person can elaborate on my topic and also speak on my critical question. This will not only have my perspective on the topic but someone else’s as well.

Studying this person will give some insight on the thinking process of being an athlete and also give information on why its important to never lose focus during a game and how to prevent from losing focus.

I will be studying the mental aspect of this person and have them explained what they think it takes to be focus during a game.

I know this person as a good friend of mine. We just started our relationship recently since we have started college together. H e is as also my classmates.

I will contact this person through phone calls and also meeting with him at lunch and also observe him in his practices.

Childhood Memories (blog post 4)

The point of the How to become Batman simply speaks on how our expectations affect people around us. It can either be in in a positive or negative aspect but the podcast really didn’t touch too much on anything negative. Also the podcast speaks on how our expectations influence people as well in positive ways to do better in life or become a better person. The point with the second podcast really is a blur to me as I was listening to the first twenty minutes of the podcast. From my understanding of the podcast it was saying it was okay to be ignorant in some aspects. As crazy as it sounds crazy this was my own personal understanding of the Summer Camp podcast. In the first podcast How to become Batman the journalist talk more than the subjects being interviewed. The journalist seems to introduce the subjects and their situation of why they are being interviewed. The journalist explains each subject’s situation and elaborate and talk about the subject and then they bring in the subject in the interview and talk about everything. I loved how the journalist introduce each subject and speak about them in a respectful tone of voice. Now in the second podcast Summer Camp it’s really combination of both the journalist and the young campers speaking on the subject at hand. Once again I really have no clue on what is the true point about this podcast. Well in the first podcast How to become Batman the title itself has some connection just because of the title it self. Batman is my favorite superhero just because of his stealth attacks upon his enemies so I just love the character of batman. So with that being said the title itself influences to write about something such as a child hood memory since Batman is my favorite superhero. I cannot feel drawn to the second podcast because I cannot get my finger around the meaning of the whole point and significance of Summer Camp podcast. To be honest with you I really don’t know how the both these wonderful podcasts are set up in organization. I just listen to the flow of the podcasts and try to get see past the basic of each podcast and listen for symbolic messages within each podcasts. The only idea from the podcasts that I have is to either write or talk about something special from my childhood memory.

Since both podcasts reflect on something from my childhood from a superhero to evil bad guys. The podcasts have an eye opening on how fast I have grown up. Time truly flies when you are busy and growing up trying to find your true self in life. The first podcast talks about people are something like Batman. Like I already said Batman is that guy when it comes to being a superhero. The second podcast talks about childhood monsters, which also have a significant role in my childhood memories. The nights I watched scary movies and would be scared pissing my pants at night from the thoughts of the evil from the movie. I truly enjoyed that part of my childhood because it made me grow into a liking of scary movies and now I just love to watch them. So both of these podcast have taken me back to memories that I can’t physically get back but just the thought process of the great times I had as a young boy. God I truly do miss the time as a young child that had noting to worry about but going to school getting good grades and playing sports.

My Critical Question

How would the modern civilization be different in a positive or negative aspect if the entire lack the emotion of fear?

My critical question relates to everyone on the face of the planet. Just think, how would your life different if you could not feel fear. There wouldn’t be any scary movies at all, no one would be afraid of them. Would the world be in more chaos or in domestic tranquility? Would the impact of this emotion not existing be significant or just pointless in general? People would be affected by this situation in a major way, if it’s a positive or negative outcome really depends on the individual.

My Artifact

The artifact that I will be using will be based on the matter of how it relates to me personally. The artifact itself will be based on a recent event that has taken place and has had a significant impact on America. Young African American males who are killed by Caucasian law enforcement is the artifact that I will be using in my project. This topic has been a very serious discussion and debate with the country. The African American community believes cops are getting away with murder while the White community believes that the law enforcement has done nothing wrong. This question affects me because I am a young African American male, and I am affected by this topic because the same case can happen to me. I wonder whenever I walk by a cop will I be the next to get murdered by white law enforcement. My life is at risk every time I leave my dorm, just like Michael Brown. A young black male shot several times and killed in the middle of the street. There is the fact that he stole swisher sweats at the corner store. The officer that killed Michael Brown had no idea that Brown stole anything just a few minutes ago. Brown was gunned down in self-defense claims the officer. Witnesses say that Brown pleaded for his life while surrendering with his hands up and was denied the fact to be able to go home and see his family and friends again. So you wonder why young black males are so up tight when cops come around or stop us young black men on the streets. This is a sensitive topic for me to talk about due to the emotion that I feel knowing that I could be the next victim to fall to the lethal thrash of the justice system.

Blog 2 Part 2

My critical question was based on the emotion of fear. The article that I read recently covered over the issue of people who live life without the emotion of fear. How is that possible? You would think that scary movies or violence and life itself would strike fear into someone’s state of mind. How would life be different without the emotion of fear? What would happen? What would change? Fearless people tend to go through the motion of when in a situation and this individual should have somewhat of the emotion of fear being expressed. Instead this individual most likely is not afraid nor have the awareness that something of harm is around them that may cause danger to them. So with that being said, how would modern civilization be different in a positive aspect or negative aspect if the entire human race lacks the emotion of fear? Would there be more chaos in the world as a whole or would we experience domestic tranquility around the world? The reason why I asked this particular question is because I am interested in the outcome if the entire human race was born without the emotion of fear, what would take place in the future. How does this question relate to me personally? I can relate to this question because in the sport of football I can’t play with the emotion of fear. In football you must remain aggressive at all times and not be afraid to make ends meet. So I somewhat think that if people lack the emotion of fear than maybe, just maybe people might become way more aggressive since no one fears one another. My question is connected to everyone all over the globe. Without the emotion of fear would the crime rate in communities increase or would we see a drop in percentage in crime rate? This one way my question relates to everyone in general around the world.
How can my critical question relate to three different projects? Well my question can be based of many different subjects and topics at hand. For example the debate or discussion about how athletes must play or practice lack the emotion of fear without worry about anything. Another example would be America’s military core. Do you think our men and women in service go out and fight for this country without the emotion of fear? I truly believe our men and women in the service are really brave for fighting in what they believe in and protect this great country from the harms of other countries who mainly desire what we have as great Americans.
I only have a few questions to ask about the three main projects. What exactly do you need in order to complete the project correctly.  What other tools do we need to be successful in your classroom as well on the projects? That should pretty sum all the questions I have for you at this point and time. Thank you for your time Ms. Green.
